A local court in Gujarat has convicted Asaram’s son Narayan Sai in a rape case. Narayan Sai has been declared a criminal only after the case was examined based on the statements of given by two sisters from Surat.

In fact, these two sisters accused Narayan Sai and his father Asaram of raping them between 2002 and 2005 when they were staying at Asaram’s ashram. The elder sister had accused Asaram of raping her while the younger sister had said that Asaram’s son Narayan Sai did the same with her. A case is currently going on against Asaram in the Gandhinagar court.
It is to note that in the year 2013 Narayan Sai was arrested by Haryana police. However, case was streched for quite sometime and he has been declared guilty in 2019. Now, court will announce the punishment for Sai on 30th April.
However, Asaram has already been convicted in the rape case of a minor girl in the year 2018 and was sentenced to life imprisonment. It was alleged that Asaram had raped a minor girl in a village near Jodhpur and was later found guilty.
Recently, there has been many cases where people who call themselves as ‘Baba and Yogi’ have been found accused of rape. In the year 2017, Gurmeet Ram Rahim was found guilty of raping two ‘sadhvis’. However, after this his supporters came out on the streets of Harayana and did violence. That claimed lives of 41 people.
Asaram and his son also forcefully got physical with women who came to their Ashrams. These cases definitely hurts the feeling of ‘blind faith’ that people have on ‘Sadhu-Saints’.
