An FIR has been lodged against son-in-law of ex-Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, Dr. Punit Gupta. Punit Gupta is accused of a Rs 50 crore scam.
Dr. KK Sahare, Superintendent of DAV Super Specialty Hospital said that an audit committee formed on the instructions of the state government had found that Dr. Gupta was involved in financial irregularities while being the Director of DKS Hospital.
It was found in the inquiry report of the high level committee that Dr. Gupta made irregularities in the recruitment of staff, procurement of equipment and outsourcing. He also wanted to benefit people known to him. Dr. Gupta has been accused of violating rules during appointment on contract basis.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Praful Thakur said that he has filed complained against Dr Gupta with the help of Superintendent of DKS Super-speciality Hospital, namely Dr. K.K. Sahara.
The case under section 409, 420, 467, 468 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered against Dr Gupta and the investigation will start soon. Prior to this, an FIR has also been lodged against Dr. Gupta in Antagarh tape scam.
