People are casting their votes for the fourth phase of Loksabha elections on 72 seats. This time also there is news about malfunctioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

The voting was delayed due to problems in EVMs in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Due to this, the voters who came to vote are expressing their anger. In UP, SP has complained to its Election Commission.

In Kannauj’s, there are reports of defective EVM machines on 74 booths. However, 4 machines have been changed after the complaint. But why is it happening that these machines malfunction during elections?

Polling in booth No. 86, 87 and 88 in Mirgaon also got delayed due to this. SP alleged that voting was still disrupted even after the EVM was changed three times in the booth No. 189 of the Chhambaram Assembly of Kannauj Lok Sabha seat.

Similar reports on delay in elections due to faulty EVMs have been coming from Jhansi, Jharkhand, Haidar nagar and Samastipur.

There are long lines on booths due to the defective EVM machines. These reports are in contrast to the claims made by the Ruling Government and Election Commission that EVMs are safe and secure.
