Gautam Gambhir, BJP’s candidate from East Delhi is facing odd situations. Aatishi, AAP leader, has filed a complaint against him accusing that he is holding two voters’ IDs.

She has alleged that Gautam Gambhir is voter from two places which is a punishable offence. She has filed a complaint against him under section 155 (2) and has sought a police investigation in the matter.

On behalf of Aam Aadmi Party, it has been alleged that Gautam Gambhir has stated his address in the nomination letter as Rajinder Nagar-39, Part No 43, Serial No 285, EPIC No SMM1357243. Atishi has found that Gautam Gambhir’s Voter ID also has the address of Karol Bagh-23, Part No 86, Serial No 87, EPIC No: RJN1616218.

Atishi has alleged that  Gautam Gambhir deliberately hid this information due to fear of cancellation of his nomination. It is to note that hiding information from the Election Commission in the nomination papers is also a punishable offence. Accused can also be booked for upto six months in prison for this.

After the matter came to light, the Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reacted to this. He said that the voter does not vote for a person who is going to be declared disqualified.
