Watch Video: When PM Modi said you have to be ‘unfair’ to increase 50% limit of reservation!

Modi government is being criticized after the announcement of its plan to give 10% reservation to ‘upper castes’ earning less than 8 lakh per annum. The government wants to amend the constitution to give this 10% reservation which will break the 50% limit.

This is possible through a constitutional amendment, which is a big challenge. However, the reservation bill for economically weak ‘upper castes’ has been passed in both houses of the parliament. This will become legal after president will sign on the bill. It is being challenged by an NGO in the Supreme Court.

If the court finds this amendment to be against the basic structure of the constitution, then it can cancel it. Still, if the reservation is to be given to the ‘upper castes’ will Modi government be unfair? Will it give reservation to them from the already 50% limit and be unfair to SC, ST and OBC? Or, will it give reservation by breaking 50% limit and be unfair to constitution and Supreme Court?

We have found answer to this. PM Modi has himself solved this puzzle. His video is getting viral which is of some earlier date. He can be seen saying that “There is a cap of 50% on reservation in whole of India. No government can go against this. If any government tries to give reservation more than that then it is being unfair.”
