Supreme Court has called Muzzafarpur shelter home case details as ‘horrible’ and ‘scary’. SC said this after CBI gave its report on the case. This case involved alleged rape of several girls who were living inside shelter homes.

Apex court has also issued a notice to Brajesh Thakur who isowner of shelter home. It has asked him to explain why he shouldn’t be transferred to a jail outside the state. Supreme Court has asked for reason from Brajesh based on allegations referred by CBI.

CBI has alleged that Thakur is an influential person and he can create problems in justice delivery. A mobile phone was also recovered from Brajesh Thakur inside the jail where he was kept under judicial custody.

Tejashwi Yadav tweeted, ” Yes! Brajesh Thakur is an influential person. He anchors the election rallies of Nitish Ji. CM visits his home, gives advertisements and grants to his newspapers & NGO’s. And in return 34 girls r gang raped in state patronage. CM keeps quite to save his man”.

TISS had released a report in May which had pointed out sexual abuse of Muzaffarpur shelter home inmates. This had led to filing of a FIR, after which 10 people were arrested.

Medical examinations have confirmed that 34 out of 42 inmates were sexually exploited. Brajesh Thakur is main accused in the case. His shelter home is run by an NGO called ‘Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti’.

Bihar government has recommended a CBI probe in the matter. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the case.
