Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders have been send on court arrest as they were leading a protest towards CBI headquarters. They had called protest against Central government’s decision to send CBI director Alok Verma on leave.

Rahul Gandhi said, “Prime Minister has given Rs. 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani. Removing CBI director will not hide truth. Arrest me as many times as you want, I don’t care”. He has been held at Lodhi Colony Police station.

Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders were protesting against sending of CBI director overnight on leave. Alok Verma was having files of 7 sensitive cases among which Rafale was also one. Though, CBI has claimed that Alok didn’t had any files related to Rafale deal. He was sent on forced leave on Wednesday and an interim CBI director was appointed. Today Opposition had called a protest for the same.

Youth Congress’s twitter handle has condemned Rahul Gandhi’s arrest. It has alleged that PM Modi is trying to silence the ‘voice of truth’.

Rahul Gandhi had called the midnight action taken against Alok Verma as ‘unconstitutional’. He was seen leading a protest that not only targeted Modi goverment’s move on CBI director; links of Anil Ambani and PM Modi were also condemned.

Today, Supreme Court has also given directions on Alok Verma’s case. It has asked CVC to do an inquiry in the allegations put up against Verma within 2 weeks. There seems to be a stir in India’s democracy as CBI is now under scanner of the government.
