‘The Hindu’ has yet again made a new revelation about Rafale deal. It has claimed that Rafale deal has not fulfilled the pricing and terms made during UPA government. It also said that 3 officials had expressed their discontent, yet the deal took place.

Actually, three officials had given dissent note on 1st June, 2016 to show their disagreement with the deal. They said that France government has set 55.6% higher price  than the earlier benchmark price of jets in the name of ‘escalation’. The price can even go up till the time of supply due to ‘escalation’.

It is to note that Modi government has presented CAG report on Rafale deal in parliament today. According to that, inter-governmental contract between France and India was 2.86% cheaper than the earlier price. The earlier price was set under UPA regime in 2007 while new price was set under NDA regime in 2016.

However, ‘The Hindu’ report is claiming otherwise that Indian side wanted to set a benchmark price for the deal. But, France side changed it into a formula of escalation due to which price can be increased. The ignorance of complaints made by officials also creates doubts. Their dissent note was submitted three months before the deal between two nations on 23 September, 2016.

Special Thanks- The Hindu
