‘Mahagathbandhan’ leaders have decided the seat distribution in Bihar for Lok Sabha elections. Candidates from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have been announced for 19 seats while they have left one seat for Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist).

Congress will be fighting elections from the state on 9 seats. RLSP will contest on 5 seats. Tejashwi Yadav has made the announcement of the 38 seats (out of 40) which combined opposition will be fighting in Bihar.

Dr Misa Bharti will be contesting from Patliputra. She had lost elections on this seat during 2014 elections. Randhir Singh will be fighting from Maharajganj while Tanveer Hasan will contest elections from Begusarai. Tanveer had secured 369892 votes from this seat during 2014 election being second to BJP’s Bhola Singh. From the Congress party, Meira Kumar will fight elections from Sasaram while Uday Singh will contest from Purnia.

Bihar is a state which has 40 Lok Sabha constituencies and usually stays active in Indian politics. All the leaders from this state occupy importance space in the political discourse. The leaders from this state have time and again protested against the government in past 5 years. They have contantly questioned BJP government on issues like ‘Shelter home case’, employment, roster system etc.

It will be interesting to watch what will be the outcome of elections in Bihar. Whether ‘mahagathbandhan’ which has been constantly voicing its opinion against the government is able to win or not?
