He told us about how Congress has bounced back to Indian politics through 2018 assembly elections. Acharya said that BJP is under shock after Congress party secured win in 3 out of 5 states. He also said that next elections will be about Rahul vs Modi.
What does this win imply? Is nation’s mood changing?
Timing of assembly elections hold immense importance. This will have a big effect on BJP as these states were considered as strongholds of the party. Chhattisgarh was under Raman singh for 15 years while Madhya Pradesh was under Shivraj for 13 years. Rajasthan was being ruled by Vasundhra Raje.
These governments played important role in making Modi government during 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Madhya Pradesh Congress had got only two seats during 2014 elections, only Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia.
2018 win is important for Congress not only for its comeback, but also because these states hold 80 Lok Sabha seats in Lok Sabha elections. This will affect upcoming elections.
BJP leaders and spokesperson tried to convey people by criticising Congress in full mood. Still, Hindus (their core voters) defied BJP and voted for Congress. This voting pattern of Hindus means that BJP is saying lies.
I don’t think that there can be any other candidate in next elections because Prime Minister cannot be made with 8-9 MPs. As far as regional parties are considered, those having similar ideology as of Congress will come together with it and Rahul Gandhi will be Prime Ministerial candidate.
