BJP government claimed that they will make “New India” free of corruption. However, the same government is now surrounded by allegations of providing benefits to their close-ones.
As Narendra Modi took oath of Prime Minister, his name got associated with many businessmen. He was also alleged of providing these people with benefits. One of the famous name in this list is of Gautam Adani.
‘The Caravan’ magazine published a report in which there were claims that CBI didn’t do any investigation against Gautam Adani who has links in a scam. Gautam’s company is alleged to do Rs 5500 crore scam.
This scam is none-other-than Coalgate, i.e. Coal scam. BJP had done various protests against this scam while it was in opposition. However, after coming to power it trying to save those who are involved in this.
In this coal scam, CBI filed FIR on 4 January 2018 in relation to abuse of coal mines in Maharashtra area.This case was filed against Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) and its private partner company EMTA.
KECML, a joint venture company of these two companies, misused the national mineral in the coal mines of Maharashtra. However, CBI forgave Gautam Adani’s company Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) in the case of the misuse of national minerals in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan State Electricity Production Corporation and AEL have been accused of misusing thousands of crores of national minerals. In April 2018, Sudip Srivastava had filed a petition in the Supreme Court. He filed this on the basis of evidence that the company of Adani misused the national mineral of Rs.5,500 crore.
While CBI is investigating other companies in those mines cases, industrialist Gautam Adani’s company is being spared.
