BJP has fielded Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the main accused in the Malegaon bomb blasts case from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat. Since the ticket has been given Pragya Thakur by BJP several opposition leaders and journalists are raising questions on that.

All of them are questioning about how can a national party of India field a terrorism accused in the elections. This question is also being raised because Pradnya Thakur is still an accused in the Malegaon blast case. She is currently facing a trial. According to Special Public Prosecutor Avinash Rasal of this case, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur is an accused in this case.

However, BJP does not consider her as a terrorist. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has said that there is no such thing as ‘Hindu terrorism’. This is a fake theory given by the Congress. Even though the BJP does not consider Sadhvi Pragya Thakur a terrorist, but her involvement in the case of bomb blasts has also been considered by the court. Because of that, she has been in jail for 9 years and is still out on bail.

Journalist Sakshi Joshi has strongly criticized BJP on this action. She tweeted, “Pakistan does not consider Masood Azhar as a terrorist. And India does not accept Pragya Thakur as one. This makes things equal.”

On the other hand, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mahbuba Mufti, while targeting BJP, said, “Imagine the anger if I’d field a terror accused. Channels would’ve gone berserk by now trending a mehboobaterrorist hashtag! According to these guys terror has no religion when it comes to saffron fanatics but otherwise all Muslims are terrorists. Guilty until proven innocent.”

It is to note that Sadhvi Pragya Thakur is the main accused in the 2008 Malegaon Blast case. She has been in jail for 9 years in this case. However, she is out on bail. 7 people were killed in the blast and around 100 people were injured.
