New Zealand is on high alert for the first time after there was a shooting attack on two Christchurch mosques. This has claimed lives of around 49 people. It is being alleged that one of the attacker was Australian extremist.

Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand PM, said that  “They are us. The person who has perpetuated this violence against us is not. They have no place in New Zealand.”

This attack seems to be intentionally done Muslims. New Zealand’s Prime Minister has called it as a ‘terrorist attack’. She has confirmed that 10 people have been killed at Linwood Avenue Mosque and 30 people have been killed at Deans Avenue Mosque.

Police Commissioner Mike Bush later increased the death toll count to 49. New Zealand Police Commissioner had said that four people had been taken into custody, three men and one woman.

It is to note that terror attacks have become a big problem in modern world. In the year 2017 itself, there had been more than 11 thousand terror attacks in more than 100 nations which claimed lives of more than 25 thousand people.

If the allegations are true, then targeting people belonging to Muslim community describes the hate that is there in minds of some people. PM of New Zealand has rightly said that such people cannot be a part of her country.
