Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been convicted by special CBI court in the murder case of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati. He has been convicted in the case along with other three people. However, it is sad for a democracy that when so called followers try to spread fear in support of a convict.
Actually, Ram Chander was murdered back in 2002. This happened after his newspaper ‘Poora Sach’ published a letter whose contents highlighted about ‘how wonen are being sexually exploited by Ram Rahim in his Dera. That’s not all. Ram Rahim has also been convicted in rape cases of two women in 2017.
The whole issue of his followers using violence to mark their protest and harming life and property completely goes against the law. This happened back in 2017. Today also, Haryana Police has increased security of the state in order to avoid any unwanted incidents of violence.
Till when will ‘democracy and its people’ fear for their security?
