Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the main accused of the Malegaon bomb blasts, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). There are speculations that Sadhvi Pragya can be fielded against Digvijay Singh on Bhopal Lok Sabha seat.
The speculations that Sadhvi Pragya will join BJP was going on for quite a time. Now, after joining BJP formally on Wednesday, it is believed that she will contest from Bhopal against Congress candidate Digvijay Singh.
It is being told that BJP senior party leaders are discussing about making Sadhvi Pragya fight elections from Bhopal. According to sources, Sadhvi’s candidature can be announced till Wednesday.
After formally joining BJP, Sadhvi Pragya said to the media, “I have formally become a member of BJP. I will contest elections and will win them too. I have support of Shivraj Singh Chauhan “.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has raised questions about Sadhvi Pragya’s involvement in BJP. He said that the involvement of Sadhvi in BJP shows the mood of the party.
It is to note that Sadhvi Pragya Thakur is the main accused in the 2008 Malegaon Blast case. She has been in jail for 9 years in this case. However, she is currently out on bail. 7 people were killed in the blast and around 100 people were injured.
