Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis is in trouble as he is on radar of apex court. Supreme Court has issued a notice to Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis for allegedly hiding criminal cases registered against him during 2014 elections.

Actually, SC has issued notice to him after hearing a petition filed against him. This petition asked for disqualification of Fadnavis as he failed to reveal criminal cases registered against him during filing nomination for 2014 elections.

This petition is filed by lawyer Satish Ukey. He alleged that Fadnavis had cases of cheating and defemation registered against him that he had concealed.

Maharashtra CM office has given statement saying that Fadnavis had mentioned cases registered against him.

Bombay High Court had earlier dismissed the petition against him. However, Kapil Sibal argued in for petitioner saying that Mr Fadnavis didn’t disclosed details of pending cases. As per law he has to disclose them.

Media reports claim that, Fadnavis’ nomination is on myneta.info. According to that, he has 22 criminal cases registered against him. But according to petitioner he has not revealed two cases of cheating and defamation registered against him.

Supreme Court bench has asked CM Fadnavis to give his response on the petition filed against him, to which CM office said that the claims are false.
